Julie is the head of the Tap Department at Ann
Carroll School of Dance where she has been teaching since 1988.
She is a certified dance instructor with the Southern Association
of Dance Masters. She has received 3 Top Teacher awards
at Star Systems Talent Competition as well as choreographing many
award winning dances for national dance competitions. Julie performed
in The Eternal Flame which she also choreographed and
as a principal dancer in Colors of Praise at the Sight
and Sound Entertainment Center in Lancaster, PA. Julie was an apprentice
with the Nashville Ballet, performed The Nutcracker
with the Atlanta Ballet Company and danced in Disney Symphonic
Spectacular at Starwood Amphitheater. Her choreography experience
includes The Joys of Christmas for Sight and Sound Entertainment
Center, West Side Story for Middle Tennessee State University,
and dances that have been featured in performances in Macys
4th of July Extravaganza and at The White House. Savion Glover,
Joe Tremaine and Frank Hatchett are among the many teachers that
have helped form Julies dance technique. After taking on both
Savion Glover and Gregory Hines in tap-offs in New York City she
was invited to stay and teach and choreograph at the citys
most renowned studio.
