Originally from Honolulu, HI, Jennifer Jackson spent several years teaching dance to students of all ages as Co-Director of Honolulu Dance Company. While attending University of Hawaii and performing as a UH Rainbow dancer,Jennifer opened a satellite studio in Kaneohe, Oahu as a branch partnership and also campaigned to begin a state-wide mobile dance program within the public after-school enrichment program, A+.
In 1997, Jennifer accepted an offer to perform in Beauty & the Beast at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. Her 10 years with the Walt Disney Co. led to many wonderful experiences including televised events,performing in the opening cast of Tokyo Disney Seas in Tokyo, Japan 2000-2001) and eventually joining the Staging Specialist team, teaching and encouraging other Disney performers to achieve excellence for WDW Entertainment. Other experience includes two seasons as an Magic Dancer for Orlandos NBA team and numerous corporate entertainment/sporting events with various production companies across the country--either as a dancer, a production assistant or choreographer.
An honors graduate of Rollins College, Jennifer holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Organizational Communication. She recently joined Vanderbilt Dance Theater for the upcoming season as an outlet for her love of expression through dance.
Jennifer lives in Franklin, TN with her amazing husband Matt and beautiful two-year old daughter Makena and is loving living in a place with four seasons' leaves falling, the occasional snow, and the most beautiful Spring shes ever seen. She feels blessed to become a part of the Ann Carroll School of Dance family and looks forward to helping her students blossom into a lifelong love for dance.
